Honda's next-generation FCX Concept fuel cell vehicle

Honda has actively invested in the future with their concept FCX fuel cell vehicle. In June, the sleek, futuristic FCX made its European debut in Sweden sporting some new impressive features. According to the Press Release, "The vehicle is highly efficient, with an energy efficiency of around 60 percent; approximately three times that of a petrol-engine vehicle, twice that of a hybrid vehicle and 10 percent better than the current FCX. "To obtain significant gains in environmental and driving performance, the FCX Concept is equipped with a V Flow fuel cell platform. Maximum Output is rated at 95kW (129PS, 127 horsepower) and Maximum Torque at 256N.m (26.1kg.m, 188.8 lb-ft.).The car can attain a maximum speed of 160km/h (100 mph).

The Honda FCX Concept is central to Honda's focus of delivering a new dimension in environmentally friendly driving pleasure not found with petrol-engine vehicles. The new fuel cell stack is 20 percent smaller and 30 percent lighter than the current Honda FCX FC Stack. The new model delivers 14kW over the previous. The FCX power plant weighs less and is about 40% smaller in volume, which has allowed for more space in the cabin and contemporary looks for this concept vehicle. The FCX's interior fabric is made from Honda Bio-Fabric, a durable plant-based material that is resistance to sunlight damage.
