In its 2012 model year, the Big H didn't change a whole lot about their lauded compact model, the Honda Civic and for good reason. How does that old saying go? If it's not broke, don't fix it? Honda saw nothing wrong with the Civic in its current form, so the 2012 model didn't shake things up so to speak. Honda knows, however, that while the Civic is a great vehicle now, too much of a good thing can quickly become stale. And that's why the Japanese automaker is planning to give its compact model a little design kick going into the 2013 model year.

Though, we should admit that we're not the only ones who are excited for the 2013 Civic. The Big H themselves are banking quite a bit on the vehicle's introduction. In fact, the company is even going as far as to predict a 24-percent sales increase when it makes its way to dealership lots.

"Building a good car isn't enough for us, we have to build a great car," explains John Mendel, Honda U.S. Executive Vice President of Sales. "We think we can do better and the customer expects that and we will."¹

As for what building a great car encompasses in this case... Honda has managed to, once again, keep a tight lid on details. Other than the fact that they'll be focusing on noise reduction and interior quality, the company has not released any specifications at this time.
